Nobel Systems’ Valve Isolation Module allows both office and field staff to identify a location, such as a main break, and determine which valves to close and properties (customers) impacted by service disruption. Built on latest smart map technology, the Isolation module allows operators to select a point on the line, and it geographically identifies the valves that need to be closed and displays the total properties (customers) effective by loss of service. Operators can control the specific sets of isolation valves to be considered in the analysis.
The Valve Isolation module is the ideal tool to simulate the isolation of user-defined areas of a distribution network for maintenance, emergency planning, or other operational needs. To determine the isolation, information is pushed to a geoprocessing tool to run the analysis and process the results. The results are returned to the operator, where a valve can be marked inoperable and the analysis process repeated. When the isolation area has been verified, the results can be saved and shared with others.
