Antelope Valley East Kern Water Agency (AVEK) recently contracted with San Bernardino-based Nobel Systems to implement a Geographic Information System (GIS) and Workflow Management System.
AVEK is a Palmdale, CA-based private body that operates water treatment plants and supplies water. Nobel Systems is a premier GIS solutions company offering Geospatial Services, Cloud Technology (SaaS), Software Engineering, and Software Integration.
Nobel’s flagship GeoViewer Online software is the “crown jewel” of its service to AVEK. The GeoViewer software is built not on any proprietary system but purely in open source. This open-source system allows for creating beautiful maps at lightning speed access.
By leveraging the latest smart-map technology, GeoViewer is the most diverse cloud mapping solution available to local government, utility districts and private organizations.
The Nobel engineering team built the software based on Google Maps, and there is minimal need for training. Anyone who is familiar with Google Maps can use Nobel’s software. GeoViewer Online is an enterprise solution, which the entire AVEK organization can access 24/7 using a web-based search engine. GeoViewer allows users to view, print, search, report, and analyze GIS data through a user-friendly interface.
Because GeoViewer Online is available as a Software as a Solution (SaaS), no additional hardware or software is required on the client-side.
AVEK will also adopt a unique component built on GeoViewer Mobile to enable its field staff to record necessary data corresponding to water operations and maintenance.
The data collected will auto-synchronize with the GIS server, thus streamlining operations with the utmost efficiency without requiring manual supervision.
Additional components with GeoViewer Online and GeoViewer Mobile will help improve workflow processes, operation maintenance, and collaboration between AVEK’s office and field staff.
Field staff can use GeoViewer Mobile to capture and update GIS data, pictures, field notes, and other essential details using an easy-to-use, user-friendly interface.
GeoViewer Online includes a built-in Business Intelligence module that allows office-based users to track, trend, monitor and report on work completed and productivity.
