Universal City, Texas Awards Nobel Systems GIS Asset Management Contract

The City of Universal City, Texas, has selected Nobel Systems to provide GIS, Field Mobility, and Asset Maintenance cloud-based services (SaaS). This client is Nobel’s first in the State of Texas.

Universal City’s public works department researched GIS/Asset Management systems for a year and overwhelmingly decided that Nobel was the best fit to meet current and future needs.

The City of Universal City, a suburb of San Antonio, is a master-planned community with over 20,000 residents. The city strongly focuses on quality service to the community.

Previous to awarding Nobel the contract, the public works department utilized mostly manual workflow processes and outdated data entry techniques.

“We are thrilled to begin our new partnership with Nobel Systems,” said Universal City Public Works Director Randy Luensmann. “Universal City has a long history of old-school style data entry and general work, which is why we are excited to move to a GIS-based platform.”

Implementing Nobel’s SaaS-based GIS-based Asset Management solution will improve efficiency, accuracy, and overall workflows in the Public Works Department.

“We know this will be a momentous move forward for our Public Works department and will further our mission to improve our teams’ workflows and collect more accurate and extensive field data.” Universal City Public Works Director Randy Luensmann

To monitor and maintain essential assets, keep track of important information, and monitor and maintain field mobility, Nobel is providing the City of Universal City GIS Cloud-based Online/Mobile services (SaaS) and Operational Maintenance solutions. GeoViewer will allow staff to visualize critical information in real-time (online/offline) and streamline workflow processes to meet departmental objectives.

“We are proud to partner with the Universal City of Texas and look forward to helping the public works department streamline their cooperation workflows by providing the latest GIS asset management technology,” said Michael Samuel, Nobel Systems President and CEO.

Nobel’s web-based GeoViewer Mobile Asset Manager application automates workflows and enables staff to collect data in the field and have it synced to their desktop database in real time. This process eliminates paper maps and reduces staff time spent entering data into computers. Using Nobel’s GeoViewer, Universal City’s public works department can improve collaboration between office and field staff, resulting in lower costs and higher quality water service and delivery.
