Nobel Systems is hosting a virtual live roundtable discussion on Feb. 23, 9 a.m. PST on Zoom with three Southern California water utility managers on how they used GeoViewer for smart utility operations management during the pandemic and on a daily basis.
Tom Coleman, General Manager of Rowland Water District in Rowland Heights, will moderate the discussion. Coleman will join Mike Miazga, Information Technology Manager of El Toro Water Water District in Lake Forest, and Mark Ban, General Manager of Joshua Basin Water District in Joshua Tree, to discuss the challenges faced during the pandemic and normal times. All three utilities use Nobel Systems’ GeoViewer to manage their operations.
Specific topics that the three utility managers will discuss:
Challenges of 2020/21: How they used GeoViewer to face the pandemic’s operational and safety challenges.
Agile Technology: How digital transformation affects water strategy
Data Management: How the companies dealt with the silos of data created by the many business systems in use.
Miazga of ETWD will talk about El Toro’s workflow in connecting the water district’s CIS with service orders. Ban will discuss how Machine Learning and AI improve the management of pipe breaks for Joshua Basin.
A Q&A will follow the discussion where attendees will submit questions via the chat function on Zoom.

Michael Miazga is the Information Technology Manager for El Toro Water District in Lake Forest, Calif. He is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the Information Systems department’s activities in providing sophisticated, comprehensive district-wide information technology programs and services to support the achievement of district mission and strategies.
